Artist

Arsenault obtained a bachelor’s degree in fine arts with concentrations in printmaking and photography from the University of Moncton in 2013. Her work manifests primarily as installations with elements of printed matter, video projections, and sound. She also juxtaposes printmaking, collage, and textile practices into two-dimensional works. Her practice questions the importance of biographical truthfulness in the conception of identity. Relying rather on myth, on parable, and on metaphor, she constructs biographical works that surpass the limits of chronological narration.

She has participated in many group exhibitions, such as Harbour (2019-2020) curated by Amy Ash at the Saint John Art Centre in Saint John, NB, and the Beaverbrook Art Gallery in Fredericton, NB, L’Évangeline en images (2016), a traveling exhibition from curator Jennifer Bélanger, as well as Somewheres (2014) from curator Pan Wentz at the Confederation Center of the Arts in Charlottetown, PEI.She has also exhibited her work in solo shows in New-Brunswick and Québec, as well as participated in many artist residencies across Canada (Artscape, Toronto Island, ON, Atelier Graff in Montréal, QC, La Manivelle, Pointe-à-l’église, NS, Centre Sagamie, Alma, QC ) 

Since its inauguration in 2018, Arsenault’s work is part of Image Rémanente; a permanent public art itinerary integrating 13 works of contemporary art in the City of Moncton.
